MILESTONES

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT (2013-2017)

  • FIDUO sponsored the formation of Ikun (Ekiti) Ifeloju Cooperative Multipurpose Society. The aim of this economic empowerment initiative was to enable participants obtain revolving loans to establish their own businesses. It is gratifying that two members benefited from this program in the first year of its take-off.

  • Established a strategic partnership with Grace Project International to enhance delivery of a wide range of free health care services to Ikun community.

  • Developed a framework for holding all Ikun career politicians and political office holders accountable to their constituents. This initiative, in part was instrumental to the election of Hon. Ade Anifowose to the Ekiti House of Assembly.

  • FIDUO planned and conducted a survey to identify the root cause of reported youth violence in Ikun and offered action recommendations for intervention.

  • FIDUO played a pivotal role towards maintaining the peace, harmony and stability of Ikun community during the last Onikun selection process.

  • Formed a strategic partnership agreement with the Youth Saving Lifestyle Creation Initiative (YSLCI) to promote the awareness of the dangers of youth violence and drug abuse through preventive education. The FIDUO-YSLCI initiative successfully implemented a community sensitization program aimed at making Ikun community a safe place to live and invest.

  • FIDUO successfully established strategic partnership with Bowie State University in Maryland, USA. The primary goal of this initiative is to establish mutually beneficial programs that will benefit the educational goals of youths in Ikun-Ekiti, with special focus on those interested in studying abroad.

  • Implemented several philanthropic initiatives including monetary donations to worthy causes such as Ikun Day Celebrations, installation of His Royal Majesty Oba David Olusola Olatunde, and the building of the Ultra-Modern Onikun Palace, to which FIDUO donated the sum of $3,985.87

 

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT (2010-2013)

  • Sponsored the provision of 200 Chairs and Tables for Amure High School

  • Students

  • Participated in the planning and implementation of Ikun-Day 2010, 2011 & 2012

  • Effectively involved and donated $500.00 to the Campaign and Electioneering project of Hon. R.G. Ajiboye in 2011

  • FIDUO successfully implemented the long elusive HISTORY OF IKUN-EKITI in 2013

  • Effectively involved in the planning and implementation of on-going Ultra Modern Onikun Royal Palace Development

  • Donated 50,000.00 Naira to the 60th Christ School's Old Students Set (1952) hosted by our Kabiyesi, Oba Adeleye Awojobi at his Palace, December 2012

 

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT (2007-2010)

  • FIDUO showcased the talents of his youths at the “Celebrate You” performance by New York African Chorus Ensemble, Inc. in May 2010. FIDUO also Co-sponsored the event.
  • Facilitated the peaceful resolution of Community's meeting for Ewi Women Chieftaincy Dispute in January 2009.
  • Extended humanitarian assistance to Mr. Idowu Adeoye
  • Financed the repairing of Ikun Community's Electricity Supply defect in June 2009
  • Financed the fencing of Ikun-Ekiti Electricity Transformer House and the renovation of Old Post Office Building for Commercial use in November '09
  • Introduced SAGE (Students for Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) Program to Amure High School , in March 2009
  • Sponsored Amure High School SAGE to Abuja for National Competition in Aug '09
  • Co-sponsored the 80th Birthday Anniversary of our Royal Father, Oba Adeleye Awojobi.
  • Intervened in the 2008 Ikun-Day's proceeds stalemate between Ilorin Branch of Egbe Omo Ikun and Ikun Community.
  • Established FIDUO Monthly Prayer Session For Divine Guidance for our community.
  • Facilitated the formation of Ikun Assets Maintenance Committee (I-MAC) in June 2009
  • Uncovered fraud in EKPRA/FIDUO Amure High School Project, recovered the dedicated funds, closed the project account through the assistance of I-MAC. in November 09.

 

COMMUNITY EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (1987-2007)

  • 12/87: Amure High School Infrastructural Improvement Project (Money sent through Dr. Kayode Omotunde, M.D.)
  • 04/88: Continued the on-going infrastructural improvement at Amure High School (Money sent through Mr. Kayode Ajayi)
  • 05/89: Completion of the Amure High School Infrastructural Improvement Project (Money sent through Mr. Kayode Ajayi)
  • 03/92: Executed a 4-Classroom refurbishment at Amure High School (Ikun Progressive Club facilitated the project on behalf of FIDUO)
  • 03/01: Initiated and Executed Building Infrastructural Rehabilitation at Amure High School
  • 04/06: Paid for EKPRA matching fund towards the construction of a block of 6 Classrooms at Amure High School
  • 07/02: Purchased and donated Power Generator Set, Calculator and Cassette Tape Recorder to Amure High School
  • 09/02: FIDUO Scholarship Awards to select Amure High School Students
  • 06/04: Purchased and donated 120 Chairs and Tables to Amure High School
  • 09/07: Executed termite fumigation maintenance at Amure High School (Mr. Kayode Aina sponsored the initiative)
COMMUNITY SOCIAL/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (1987-2007)
  • 05/96-Brokered a peace accord (led by Mr. Michael Dada) between His Royal Highness and his Council-of-Chiefs
  • 01/97: Donation towards the 40th Coronation Anniversary of HRH, Oba Adeleye Awojobi, JP. The Onikun of Ikun-Ekiti
  • 07/98: Assistance for the repairs of the Community’s Electricity transformer
  • 08/98: Majority donor towards the purchase of the Royal Automobile (Mercedes Benz) to facilitate community administration and other official functions
  • 03/99: Sponsored Public Enlightenment and Logistics for hosting the proposed Local Government Headquarters in Ikun-Ekiti.
  • 07/00: Sponsored the comprehensive maintenance service of HRH’s Automobile
  • 07/01: Submitted a commissioned paper to former Ekiti State Governor, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo on “Strategies for enhanced revenue generation and rural health care in Ekiti State .
  • 09/02: Recognition Plaques awarded to five Ikun-Ekiti citizens for their outstanding contributions to the development of Ikun-Ekiti.
  • 10/02: Funeral Donations to the families of 4 distinguished late Ikun-Ekiti citizens
  • 05/03: Successfully mediated other major crises that threatened the peace, unity, stability and progress of Ikun-Ekiti community (i.e., mass killing of domestic pigs, and Ikun name change proposal)
  • 10/03: Paid Matching fund with World Bank Economic Program (EKPRA) for the construction of an Ultra-Modern Market Plaza
  • 07/04: Sponsored a colorful and befitting 75th Birthday Anniversary Celebration for His Royal Highness, Oba A.A. Awojobi in New York, July 2004
  • 12/06: Funded a befitting Golden Jubilee (50th) Coronation Anniversary and Palace Renovation for His Royal Highness, Oba A.A. Awojobi
